Adamawa State governor, Muhammadu Jibrilla, yesterday celebrated the Eid-el-Kabir with the Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) at the Malkohi camp in the state.
The gesture was part of the governor’s concern for the displaced persons following the over three years of insurgency in the North-East, especially Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.
The governor urged the people of the state to support the plight of the IDPs in the state.
Bindow observed that without the efforts Buhari administrations nobody in the region would have celebrated this year’s sallah with his two eyes closed for fear of being attacked by the dreaded sect.
Responding of behalf o f the IDPs. Mr Dominic Samuel, lauded the gesture of the governor.
‘“This is the first time a governor and his entire cabinet would come to identify with us during festive period of this nature,’’ he said.
Samuel urged other leaders to emulate Governor Bindow, even as he commended the efforts of the state government in restoring eace in the state.
Highlight of the celebrations was distribution of food and gifts.
