A Real estate firm, Meridian Properties Limited, developers of the Makarios Luxury Place, Lagos, has restated its commitment to reduce the country’s huge housing deficit over the next few years through the development of a wide range of affordable, luxurious residential buildings and abodes where people can live and work.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony in Lagos, the chairman of Makarios Place, Mr. Mathew Ashimolowo described Makarios place as a very unique and ambitious project developed by the company as part of its efforts at solving the country’s housing problem.

According to statistics, Nigeria’s housing shortage is estimated at 17 million, of which five  million in Lagos alone.  When completed, the new Makarios Place will reduce this by providing homes to about 800 residents, with additional office space for tourist’s site.

Situated along Lekki-Epe Expressway, with a proximity of 15 minutes from the proposed new airport, Makarios Luxury Place is an iconic real estate development on approximately 84 acres built with the upper-middle class and upwardly mobile people in mind.

The high-end estate with over 800 residencies – a mix of terraces, flats and detached apartments will provide occupants access to several high-quality shared amenities, including an 8106sqm retail mall, 1,500sqm communal recreation space, restaurants, fitness centre and an all-around elevated living experience.

He maintained that, when completed, Makarios would be ‘’a place of five-star living and entertainment, excellent working environment with over 800 living spaces.

choose an apartment in one of the 11 units of our iconic ten-story buildings, powerfully christened Imperial Towers, from 230 service plots, 192 terraced houses, and 18 detached houses.”

Harping on the new innovation, Ashimolowo said, the estate was uniquely designed to where people can live, work, eat, play and shop, saying, it would be a major tourist’s destination.

He said: ‘’over 20 million people call Lagos home. It is predicted to harbour 32 million people by 2050, in 27 years’ time. We at Makarios feel excited to be part of the new Lagos, particularly, at the new development zone; the home of the world-class free trade zone and the location of the new Lekki international airport which will be capable of receiving the massive Airbus a380.

According to him, the waterpark and garden are adjacent to the water fountain, saying, ‘’ we want your children to have the ride of their lives. All good things should not remain at Disney World. Visit, shop, and eat at the iconic mall, which sits on 8000 square meters. Do not hurry to leave Makarios. Book your space at the beautiful hotel on the ground and give yourself a break.”
