As Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State and surrounding Local Government Councils enters the third day in total blackout, the Management of Kaduna Electric has apologised to the affected customers, blaming the prolong power failure to the fire incident that gutted the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN’s sub-station at Gusau on Sunday, 30th July,2017.
A statement by the Head, Corporate Communications of the Company, Abdulazeez Abdullahi disclosed that valuable power supply asset were lost to the inferno and assured that engineering and technical crew from the Transmission Company of Nigeria are working assiduously to effect repair on the damaged equipment.
He called on the Company’s customers and the security agencies to be extra vigilant, less men of underworld take advantage of the power outage to vandalise the existing power supply infrastructures in the area.
“While we regret the inconvenience which the unexpected outage has caused our esteemed customers, we are quick to advice that extra vigilance by the customers and the security agencies is highly needed now to avert vandalism of power supply facilities in the affected areas by men of underworld”, he said.
