150 Unemployed To Get NDE Apprenticeship Scheme In Edo

The National Directorate of Employment, NDE, has stated that a total of 150 persons across the state are to benefit from the basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme, (B-NOAS).

The Scheme is designed to empower the unemployed and unskilled school leavers/youths in 5 skills set which Includes, beauty therapy, soap making, computer appreciation, GSM repair and soft furnishing.

The State Coordinator, NDE, Ayo Edegbai, disclosed this Friday in Benin City, on the occasion of the Orientation /Sensitization and induction training for B-NOAS trainees.

Edegbai, said the B-NOAS trainees program was a clear demonstration of the Buhari’s led administration’s commitment to tackle youth unemployment in the Country.

She further explained that the scheme which is particularly targeted at youths adding that youths “ the youths constitute a serious drawback for national development as they add to the nations dependency ratio when they are not employed.

“ As a National Service outfit at the disposal of all Nigerians -those privilege with education and those without, the able bodied, urban and rural citizens, the old and the young was set up to seek ways of reducing the scourge of unemployment sapping the strength of the nation”.
