Others monitoring the elections are International Foundation for Electoral System (IFES), African Union Economic, Social and Cultural Council and National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI).
This is coming just as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also confirmed that sensitive materials have arrived Anambra State capital, Awka and are being distributed.
A document obtained by our correspondent from INEC shows that about 47 local observer groups will be joining their international counterparts to monitor the election.
The local election monitoring groups include African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development; Centre for Credible Leadership and Citizens Awareness; Initiative for Promotion of Civic Obligation and Sustainable Peace; African Initiative for Sustainable and Positive Development as well as Network of Civil Society Organization in Nigeria.
LEADERSHIP Friday further learnt that the sensitive materials taken to Anambra State were offloaded in the presence of security men and party agents in Awka.
The materials, which were inspected by INEC national commissioners, Prince Solomon Soyebi and Prof Antonia Okoosi- Simbine in Awka, were subsequently distributed to various locations.
INEC chief press secretary, Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi, who confirmed the arrival of the sensitive materials to Awka, said they were being distributed to the designated areas.
Oyekanmi said the atmosphere in Anambra State was peaceful, adding that sensitive materials are being delivered according to the planned schedule and in a transparent manner.
