5 Dies in Maidiguri Bomb Attacks

The Borno State police command yesterday, confirmed that five people, including four female suicide bombers, died while four others sustained various degrees of injuries after the multiple suicide attacks that hit Alakarantii Village in Jere local government area of the state.

Comfirmng the attacks in Maiduguri, the Borno State Police Public Relations Officer,  DSP Victor Isuku, said the corpses and the injured have been evacuated to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. “ In the wee hours of today November 18, 2017, two female suicide bombers detonated their IED vest in the outskirts of Alakaramtii Village in Jere LGA, killing themselves alone.

Then at about 0650hrs, two other teenage female suicide bombers infiltrated Alakaramtii Village. One of them hurriedly detonated her IED vest killing herself, her partner and an innocent boy. Four others including the mother of the innocent boy also sustained injuries. The corpses and the injured have been evacuated to University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. And the police EOD team promptly rendered safe an un-exploded IED vests and sanitised the area. Normalcy has since been restored to the area,” the DSP said.
