Lawmaker Commiserates With Victims Of Lagos Gas Explosion

A member of Lagos State House of Assembly Hon. Setonji David, representing Badagry II has commiserated with the families of the victims of gas explosion in Ajara, Badagry which left five people dead and several others wounded.

The explosion occurred at a local gas retail shop when owners of the business were offloading cooking gas into the shop.

David, the Acting Chairman of the House Committee on Physical Planning and Urban Development in the House, expressed grief over the loss of lives in the incident.

The lawmaker stated that, when he got the hint of the explosion, he quickly moved to the scene to see things for himself as the representative of the people of the area.

“Immediately I got wind of this unpalatable event, I had to rush down to the scene and I saw the victims and the properties destroyed by the terrible incident”, he declared.
The lawmaker urged the residents of the area to be safety conscious to prevent a reoccurrence of such an accident, saying “people must take safety precaution very seriously.”

He said that the sad event happened when a local gas retail shop exploded perhaps due to excessive heat.
