The Federal Government has commenced a vocational training for over 350 unemployed graduates, practicing farmers and other stakeholders drawn from ten states of the country.

The trainees who were from Ondo, Ekiti, Kogi, Osun, Nasarawa, Oyo, Edo ,Enugu, Delta and Kwara states would be trained in Cassava, Poultry, Fisheries, Agricultural Mechanisation, Food Processing and Agricultural Value Addition at the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure (FECA).

Addressing the participants at the event held at the International Training Centre of the Institution, the Provost, Dr. Samson Adeola Odedina ,expressed delight at the level of response of the youths of the country.

Odedina said, the development shows that the participants are genuinely interested in taking advantage of the Federal Government renewed commitment to use Agriculture as a means of empowering youth.

He said, the College’s past trainees and present practitioners have case studies and success stories of how they are now near billionaires and are making decent living and money in these areas.

According to him, the first step to be taken by individuals seeking to take advantage of opportunities in Agriculture is training.

The provost said, when people are either not properly trained or not trained at all, they rush into Agriculture and rush out to spread false information about the profitability of Agriculture Opportunities.

His words :”It is therefore my advice to you to seize this opportunity by the Federal Government for free training, so that you will be a shining example to other youths and interested individuals when your lives change for better and your businesses start flourishing, while also employing other people, thereby, contributing to the upliftment of the social -economic status of Nigeria.

“Demands have been created and gaps in supply have not been met in these areas. profitability and demand for these products and related services are real and not in doubt.

“I will like to assure you that your investment in transporting yourself to our College for this one week free training, will yield positive results.  I can equally assure you that your life will not be the same again after this exposure to “Money Making “,proven opportunity in Agriculture. “.
