2019: Civil Society Engage MDAs On Service Delivery

A coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) has said it will continue to engage the various government agencies with a view to tracking their performances.

This is as it hopes to identify avenues through which the populace can tap into the available benefiting avenues for collective good of the citizenry after which the report will be forwarded to government for necessary action.

This was the thrust of the one-day engagement the CSOs under the aegis of League of Civil Society Groups had with representatives of some MDAs in Abuja.

Leader of the coalition, Adefila kamal, while addressing media men said: “Using the words of the President that change begins with us, we brought all the agencies here to strategically engage them so that we know exactly what they have for the populace and see how we can tap into their programs and actions.

“There are agencies we also think should make necessary adjustments even as they implement government policies and we will be facing them with it head on”

One of the agencies that were on hand to answer questions from the CSOs and Managing Director, Federal Mortgage Bank, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa explained the bank’s role in making finance available to close the deficit of housing in the country.

” You know that one of the cardinal need of man is shelter for himself and his family. Together with the CSOs, we have been raising the awareness of credible persons to access the facilities available once they meet the requirements of the bank, as we work the close the deficit occasioned by the demand for housing in the country”.
