Chairman of Bwari area council, Hon. Musa Dikko has directed that all revenue accruing to the council must be paid directly into the council’s designated bank accounts, which must be appropriately receipted.
Giving the directive in Bwari, at the weekend, Dikko explained that measure is part of efforts of the council to block leakages in the internal revenue collection in the year 2018.
He warned that the council would not tolerate fraudulent deals and transactions in the collection of revenue, adding that the decision is part of steps to address under-remittance and non-remittance of internally generated revenue which is the backbone of the
The council chairman noted that the administration needs strong financial base to complete some ongoing projects in the area councils. Some of the projects, according to him, include, construction of Kukwaba motor transit park and market, Mpape 11 Market, Maitama
Village Market, Dawaki Electronics/telecommunication Market, Shagari Market in Dei Dei, as well as Byazhin Market .
“We have taken necessary steps to minimize greatly, if not totally remove recurring issue of under-remittance/non remittances of internally generated revenue,” he said.
