Gov Bagudu Commends Army Over Service To Nation

Kebbi State governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has commended the Nigerian Army for their selfless service, sacrifice and devotion to Nigeria.

Bagudu made the commendation yesterday in Government House Birnin Kebbi while receiving a team of Nigerian Army Engineers Corps who paid courtesy call to the governor.

He said that what the Nigerian army was doing for Nigeria deserves commendation in view of their sacrifice for the unity and overall security of the country.

“We are proud of all our military officers and personnel for their sacrifice and devotion to duty. What you are doing for our country, we can’t pay you back.”

He commended the army for their transparency,and professionalism in carrying out their work and also thanked them for partnering to develop the state.

He also used the occasion to condole with the Chief of Army Staff , Lt. General Tukur Burutai over the death of his father, Alhaji Yusuf Burutai.

Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the team, Major General Malu John, who is the Commander Corp of Engineers in the Nigerian Army , thanked the Kebbi State government for finding the Nigerian Army worthy of partnership.

He said he was in the state to visit sites of construction works undertaken by the NigerianArmy Engineers Corps and that similar exercise was being carried out in Anambra, Kebbi and Bayelsa states by the Nigerian Army.

“Let me thank you most sincerely for finding the Nigerian Army worthy of partnership. Your state is the first I am visiting in this regard.’’

He said the Nigerian Army Engineers have a dual role of keeping the army on the move during combat by providing basic necessity to the army during combat and maintaining fixed assets of the barracks as well as construction work.

The army general informed the governor that as soon as the 14 kilometer road being constructed by the army in Kebbi was completed, the Chief of Army Staff will come to Kebbi to commission it.
