The Sultan of Sokoto and president-general, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, will today be in Osogbo, Osun State to inaugurate the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria.
A release by National coordinator, Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, Ibrahim Abdullah, stated that the ceremony, which will take place in the Banquet Hall of the Osun State government house, Osogbo; will have Governor Rauf Aregbesola as the special guest of honour.
The Sultan of Sokoto, who is the grand patron of the association, will also serve as the Chief Guest of Honour at the ceremony.
According to him, members of the BoT are: Mallam Yusuf Ali (SAN), who is the chairman, while Mallam Muhammad Haruna, Barrister Abdraheem Adebayo Shittu, Professor Abdganiyu Ambali, Professor Obini Ekpe and Professor Saadiya Omar Bello are members.
He noted that the ceremony, which will also have Professor Is-haq Oloyede, the JAMB Registrar, as guest of honour, will be presided over by the chairman, Oyo State Muslim Community and former National President (NACOMYO), Alhaji Kunle Sanni.
A paper on the “Effective Use of Mass Media for Da’awah”, will be presented by an Editor-in-Chief and a member, editorial board of the defunct Concord Newspapers, Alhaji Liad Tella.
Abdullah maintained that delegates of the Association from all parts of the Federation are expected to attend the ceremony.
