The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has warned farmers and herdsmen living in Gwagwalada area council to desist from any act likely to cause any breakdown of law and order in the area.

The secretary, Social Development Secretary (SDS), Alhaji Oladimeji Ali Hassan, who handed down the warning, during an advocacy visit to the area council last weekend, urged them to maintain peace, which has existed among them over the years.

Hassan, who is the chairman of the ministerial committee on farmers/herdsmen clashes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated that the administration does not want to wait until crisis occurs before it starts preaching peace.

He appreciated the efforts of the royal fathers in maintaining peace in the area council, just as he urged them to continue in that regard, adding that peace is relevant for the development of any society.

Also speaking, the chairman of the Gwagwalada area council, Hon. Adamu Mustapha Danze, disclosed that the council is also making sure that peace reigns in the area.

Danze commended the efforts of the administration in the maintenance of peace in the FCT, adding that such gesture should continue for peaceful co-existence of the people.
