Killings: Maku Urges Nigerians To Seek God’s Intervention

A former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, has called on Nigerians to use the Easter period to pray fervently for God’s divine intervention to end security challenges in the country.

Maku, made the call yesterday  while speaking with newsmen in Igbabo, Doma local government area of the state.

Maku, who is also the National Secretary of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) said that growing insecurity was not in the interest of national peace and development, calling for Nigerians to pray  harder for an end to insecurity.

According to him, “The essence of Easter celebration is mainly to remember the agony, death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ who died on the cross to give salvation to  mankind.

“Let us pray for an end to poverty, wanton killings and destructions, general insecurity, economic hardship, and hunger in our land. We mustnot allow anybody to use us to forment trouble in the society as peace is priceless and non-negotiable”.

“Let us be our brother’s keeper and co-exist peacefully as no religion preaches violence and hatred but all religions preach peace and  unity.

“Let us pray for justice in our land, our leaders should be just, fair in all their activities in the interest of peace and national development”.

“Whenever you see the masses killing one  another, there is conspiracy at the top, hence the need for people to shun divide and rule principle and be united against division in the interest of peace,” he said.
