The Ilaje Ese-Odo Progressive Association has called for the investigation on the activities of Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC) starting from the tenure of Mr Debo Ajimuda.

A statement issued by the Secretary General, Samuel Ebiesuwa, the group said the former leaders should be probed and made accountable for misdeeds done during their administration.

“That the law establishing the commission be reviewed in line with mandate area development master-plan. That is the commission should be given some kinds of independence than be chaired by the super chairman-governor who direct the appointed chairman on how the resoureces of the commission be used.”

“That the construction of Igbokoda street lights hurriedly commissioned by the past government under the leadership of former governor Olusegun Mimiko be critically looked into. The rural electrification project in Idi-Ogba that was contracted out for N243 million naira should be looked into,” the statement said.

The group the Primary health centres allegedly said to have been put in place by the commission for the sum of one billion naira must be looked.

“That Osopadec should live up to expectation by taking care of our aged, empowerment of our youth and payment of our student’s bursary regularly. We have noted since the inception of OSOPADEC in 2001, that employment has only been executed by the Olusegun Agagu administration in a manner that could be termed a semi – compliance to the normal procedure. Thereafter, employment has been likened to ‘man knows man’ with a population of non indigene of the mandate area as beneficiaries,” the statement added.
