CSO Urges Keyamo Not To Be Discouraged

A Civil Society Organisation, Conscience Nigeria, has frowned at attempts by some interests and individuals to discourage Festus Keyamo (SAN) from his new assignment as spokesperson for President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election.

While congratulating Keyamo in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday, the executive director, Conscience Nigeria, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju also frowned at attempts to distract him.

The statement noted that courageous Nigerians are needed at this time to set a new agenda for our country and help drive the developmental agenda of the present government.

The statement reads in part: “We are not surprised about this new responsibility at this challenging period of our nation’s history.

“We are convinced that you will bring on board your experience and history of struggle to bear in this new assignment due to your unblemished track records of fighting for a just society.

“We therefore want to caution some detractors that are bent on pulling down our revered Senior Advocate of Nigeria for accepting this new responsibility which is premised on national interest and not on any personal gain.”

The CSO equally condemned the action of  some individuals especially the recent alleged verbal attack of an Anambra businessman, who attacked Keyamo at the premises of the Anambra State Federal High Court, Awka last friday.

“This is unacceptable to us because he is free to support any aspirant of his choice.

“We are more than convinced that the political environment would be interesting in the coming months as Keyamo engage the people on this task of selling the candidature of Mr President which we are convinced  he has all it takes to get the job done,” the statement added.
