Former governor of Sokoto State and one of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirants, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, has called on state party’s chairmen across the country to make history by staying neutral toward bringing a formidable and acceptable Presidential flag bearer for the party in the forthcoming national convention in order to enthrone justice, fairness and political unity among all the supporters in the country.
He stated this while hosting the 36 states chairmen of the party at his residence in Abuja, yesterday.
According to the statement signed by the head of Social Media of the Bafarawa Campaign Project, Malam Nuradeen Dalhatu, also charged them to be united with focus for the development and success of the party than any individual no matter how higher he becomes in the PDP.
“One of the biggest challenge that is facing our great PDP today to win the 2019 presidential election was solely under the care and supervision or actions taken by your humble approaches among all the aspirants; no matter at what direction or position.
“Therefore, I implored you to be fair and honest to all of us; this appeal is to all of you (even my state party chairman) not to digress or show concern to any particular aspirant, but give equal opportunity to everyone that has shown his interest,” Bafarawa said.
Bafarawa described the Buhari administration as a sinking ship that want to destroy the country and its values for selfishness and political vendetta. Assuring that, if given chance he will use political experience cum goodwill and to restore and redeemed the country from failure of the APC led administration.
Speaking earlier, chairman of the Forum of PDP State Chairmen, Chief Udom Ekpo, described Attahiru Bafarawa as seasoned, experience and hardworking politician with focus and positive approach to the unity and development of Nigeria.
He said, their visit was to pay homage and assured him with all the wishes of party leadership across the country for a successful journey into redeeming Nigeria and Nigerians from injustice and impunity that is destroying its image.
