Following the death of four persons by trailers along  Make  in Suleja local government area of Niger State, youths  yesterday blocked  the Minna-Suleja road as they  protested what they referred to as frequent carnage caused by trailers and tankers in the area.

The protesting youths alleged that after two persons were killed about two days ago at NNPC deport by fuel tanker, another accident occurred yesterday again at Maje killing two persons on motorcycle.

Sources hinted that they were killed while coming from Maje market where they went to buy some wares.

LEADERSHIP observed that travelers along the Minna-Suleja road were reportedly stranded due to the protest as the road was barricaded by the protesting youths.

The youths claimed that despite caution by authorities the tanker drivers who often parked at the NNPC deport frontage  were always reckless in their driving.

The police public relations officer of the Niger State Police Command, DSP Mohammed Abubakar, confirmed the incident, saying that investigation was ongoing in the matter.
