South African Airways (SAA), has partnered RadissonBlu Anchorage Hotel, Lagos in a bid to promote domestic tourism and encourage travelers to experience Lagos and Nigeria in general.
While SAA from South Africa and beyond will fly in travelers, RadissonBlu Anchorage hotel, Lagos will be providing exceptional accommodation and experiential Lagos experience that aims to unlock the leisure tourism potentials of the city.
Kemi Leke-Bamtefa, SAA National Sales Manager said, “as part of 20th anniversary of South African Airways’ service to Nigeria, it is only imperative to, as well, contribute to the tourism development of the country.
“We are excited to contribute our own quota in promoting Nigeria’s domestic tourism through this partnership with RadissonBlu, a reputable hospitality brand, not only in Nigeria, but globally,” Kemi stated.
RadissonBlu Anchorage Hotel, Lagos’ Director of Sales, Wellington Mpofu, emphasised on the partnership with SAA saying, it will afford the hotel the much needed platform to overturn the notion that Nigeria is only meant for business tourism by showcasing the numerous leisure offering of Lagos and beyond.
Wellington said, “Nigeria travel trade is being galvanised to be the drivers of the SAA and RadissonBlu partnership. The travel trade will put together enticing domestic travel packages supported by SAA and RadissonBlu for travelers to enjoy unimaginable experiences.”
In the same vein, South African Airways has supported the Institute of Directors In Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality forum through sponsorship of the institute’s foremost event, geared towards promoting tourism development in Nigeria.
At a discourse themed, ‘Domestic tourism, a catalyst to the growth of Nigerian economy’, held in Lagos, lead speaker at the event, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, emphasised that security and infrastructure should be fixed for enhancement of tourism development in Nigeria.
In his keynote speech, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce said, “tackling the issue of insecurity and developing requisite infrastructure is very important in attracting either local or international tourists to Nigeria to explore the numerous leisure tourism activities abundantly spread across Nigeria.”
Both events underscore South African Airways’ efforts in contributing to the tourism development in Nigeria.
