ADP Can’t Be In Coalition With PDP – Owie

Former Chief Whip of the Senate and now National Leader of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Senator Roland Owie, yesterday described the coalition of 30 political parties with the PDP as colony of lepers, noting that ADP cannot be in such coalition.

Speaking in Auchi, Etsako West local government area of Edo state where he received members of the Nigeria Intervention Movement into the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and unveiling of the party’s office in the area made possible by a senatorial aspirant, Erasmus Ikhide, Owie said the PDP has failed Nigeria and any coalition with it would also fail.

“We refused to be in the coalition because the moment you move into a lepers colony, you become a leper. For eight years, we could not do Niger Bridge and that same people are coming to tell you we will be better let us work together, it is not right and it will not work we said we are the alternative party, let God and Nigerians give us a chance to develop this nation. Time is not on the side of Nigeria.

“Quite frankly, how can a man who could not hold his farm for eight years, he farmed and ate all the yam then he is now telling you that you should come and farm together, what will happen, the whole yam will g to him.”

He said the recent defection in the National Assembly was as a result of desperation for return ticket by the defectors.

On his part, Ikhide said the APC has not been abale to deliver on its electioneering campaign promises and that the ADP has come to right the wrongs made by successive governments in the country.
