Mada People Push For Governorship In Nasarawa

The Mada ethnic group of Nasarawa state, has called on political parties in the state, to zone the governorship to the zone in 2019.

The ethnic group made the call in a communiqué issued after a stakeholders meeting on Saturday, held in Akwanga.

The meeting which was at the instance of council of elders (Lunku Mada),  had in attendance the state deputy governor, Silas Ali Agara, former deputy governors, political appointees, party representatives and stakeholders of Mada nation.

In a six point communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and signed by by the chairman,Dr Napoleon Saingbe and secretary, Chief Isahaya Loko, it said they have agreed to forge a common front.

The meeting agreed that all aspirants from different political parties should see the need of talking to each other, to resolve their differences.

It also resolved that only credible and well accepted aspirants with leadership qualities shall be presented to the zone.

“All the aspirants also resolved that they will abide by the wise counsel of Lunku Mada and all stakeholders to put a common front to enable them actualise their dreams for the people”.

“It was therefore concluded that all aspirants should reach out to other zones and play an all-inclusive politics that will bring peace and unity to the people of Nasarawa State,” they said.
