The Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO) office along the Abuja-Zuba expressway in Katampe, Abuja was a beehive of activities on Wednesday as the organisation’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and representatives from across the country converged to strategise on delivering the 2019 election for the president.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari recently declared his intention to contest the 2019 election for a second term in office.
At the end of a meeting which lasted for three hours during which situation reports were presented by leaders from the six geopolitical zones, the national coordinator of BCO, Alhaji Danladi Patasi told LEADERSHIP Friday that the group had established its offices across the country with plans to intensify mobilisation from the city centre to the grassroots, and even to all the polling units.
“As part of the preparation, our BoT was inaugurated six months ago, and we have regrouped into various committees who are expected to come up with workable strategies for winning the election.
“And that President Buhari will ride on the good work he is doing to win and continue in 2019 is not in doubt, given the followership we are enjoying, especially at the grassroots,” he said.
The Buhari Campaign helmsman noted that the defection of some party members lately poses no challenges, adding “it rather calls for celebration as they were moles who have been working for the opposition while in APC. Our great party will now wax stronger as the moles in the house have thrown themselves out”.
Earlier in her speech, the national women leader of the group, Paulin Talien urged members to bury their personal interests and work for the common interest of the organisation and the party, adding that everybody’s contribution matters in achieving success at the 2019 polls.
