The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship aspirant, in Nasarawa State, Labaran Maku, has assured people of the state of his agenda to provide security, youth and women empowerment if elected in 2019. Maku made the disclosure yesterday, during an interview with Journalists in Lafia.
“We have studied carefully the root causes of insecurity and the consequences of the neglect of youths and women which has given rise to the abject poverty that has almost consumed our state, and we have equally sought out the possible ways to address the issues.
“Any leader that undermines the social economic potential of the youths and women in any society will certainly attract the wroth of insecurity to that society.”
He cautioned that any political leader who neglect the youths and women in any society does that at his own perils.
Maku who expressed worry over the damning spread and scourge of poverty that has pervaded the state, assured that he has the solutions if elected in 2019.
“I have said it over and again that with the wealth of experiences I gathered during my good governance tour to all the states across the country in 2012, I can confidently beat my chest that a new Nasarawa is possible.”Maku expressed shock how some governors would pay salaries of civil servants in percentages while others are paying fully. He called on civil servants to hold their governors accountable if allowances, benefits and full salaries are not paid.
