2019: Traditional Ruler Urges Politicians To Caution Supporters

As aspirants continue to approach traditional rulers for royal blessings over their aspiration in the forthcoming elections, a traditional leader in Kogi State, Chief Boniface Musa, has appealed to aspirants to caution their supporters over violence.

The traditional ruler made the appeal yesterday at Abejukolo, headquarters of Omala local government area when Hon. Mohammed Idris paid homage to inform the traditional leader of his intention to join the race for the House of Representatives from Ankpa-Omala-Olamaboro federal constituency.

The traditional head of Omala local government area of Kogi State, Chief Boniface Musa, the Ojogba of Ife, yesterday in his palace at Abejukolo, headquarters of Omala local enjoined the aspirant to always preach peace in the present fragile society for a free and peaceful coexistence before, during and after elections.

The Ojogba of Ife stressed that his people will not condone unruly behaviour and any act inimical to peace and security of his domain noting that power certainly belongs to God and every other person should work and pray for God’s favour.

According to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman of Omala local government area, Hon. Jeremiah Adaji,  the party would provide a level playing ground to all contestants noting that the era of impunity is over, imposition is no longer in vogue every contestant must work hard to represent the federal constituency.

He urged the aspirants to work hard to reenact the quality he exhibited during his stewardship between 2011 to 2015 to be able to convince the electorates, pointing out that the people are aware of the contribution he had made in the House.

Hon. Jeremiah said however that Mohammed has the empathy, experience, clout and focus and needed exposure to give the people of federal constituency the quality representation in the House of Representatives come 2019.

Earlier, Hon Mohammed Idris expressed confidence that he would reenact the aggressive drive to bring in development through quality representation stating that having been there once he knows the intricacies of legislating to attract projects to the constituency.
