FG Approves Construction Of Adamawa’s Jada Road

The federal government has approved the construction of Jada road in Adamawa State to ease human and vehicular movements in the community.

Minister of health, Prof. Isaac Adewole , stated this yesterday during the commissioning and handing over of erosion control works at Bangole – Kofare Community, Yola north local government area of Adamawa State, executed by the Ecological Fund Office (EFO).

While noting that construction would commence on the road soon, he promised to recommend asphalt work for the second phase of the erosion project.

He noted that the speedy completion of the project was in line with President, Muhammadu Buhari’s determination in ensuring that dividends of democracy filtered down to every Nigerian.

Adewole implored members of the community to support the federal government in its determination to improve the lives of Nigerians irrespective of tribe and religion.

He enjoined the community to cherish the project by protecting it and preventing indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the drainage channels.

On her part, the permanent secretary of EFO, Dr Habiba Lawal, noted that the project was initiated through a request that was forwarded to EFO by a retired permanent secretary of Police Service Commission (PSC), Alhaji Ahijo Bamanga.

Lawal disclosed that the intervention was meant to stop the menace of soil erosion and flooding as well as to reduce threat to lives and property.

She attributed the timely completion of the project to the tireless efforts of the contractor, Messrs Telesis Limited as well as the project consultant, Messrs Alinat Design and Build Consultant Nigeria Limited for closely monitoring and  honouring all contractual obligations by the EFO.
