No fewer than 100,000 supporters of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, would welcome him to Edo state today, as part of his campaign tour for the Presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the 2019 general elections.

This was disclosed to newsmen in Benin yesterday, by the Coordinator of Kwankwasiyya Movement in Edo, Chief Osamede Adun.

Adun, who said the supporters would be adorned with the red cap of the movement, noted that all was set to receive the most sellable aspirant for the PDP’s ticket.

According to him, “We are set for the mother of all event, and as I speak with you, red cap, which  the movement is known for, is out of stock in Edo because of the high demand by members of the movement.

“We were not surprised with this development at all because, he, Kwankwaso, is someone who is loved by all.

“His interest is how to better the lot of Nigeria and Nigerians; no wonder he came close to clinching the ticket of his former party, APC, in 2014.

“Without mincing words, I can rightly tell you that he is the best person for the job of savaging the country, we (supporters) know it, and they (party leaders) are aware of it too.

“From our end here, we are not only set to receive him in Benin, we have also resolved to give him the necessary encouragement for him to succeed in this mission.” stated Adun.

Adun, who only recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC), along with hundreds of his supporters, said the PDP was also expected to harvest more members during the visit.

“I can rightly tell you that hundreds of supporters from other political parties, APC and others, have concluded plan to defect to PDP to lend their support to Kwankwaso,” he said.

It would be recalled that the Edo Chapter of the PDP, had in the past few days, received other Presidential aspirants of the party.

Among the aspirant that have visited the state, are; the former Vice President, Alh Abubakar Atiku and Alh Ahmed Makarfi.
