The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on youths in the country not to falter in their quest to re-invigorate the political space with new ideas and new ways of doing things.
Speaking during a victory dinner for its newly elected national executive council (NEC) members in Abuja at the weekend, the national publicity secretary of the party, Mr. Yekini Nabena, disclosed that the youth caucus is working hard to ensure victory for the party in 2019 election.
Nabena noted that even before the passing of the Not To Young To Run bill, the APC national youth caucus has been active in advocating for youth agenda, adding that the passage of the bill has been an added impetus.
“As you can see there are vibrant and ebullient men in our midst today that still believes in the party and all it has to offer. If we continues to work together diligently and faithfully, there is no mountain too high that we would not overcome.”
Also speaking, an aspirant for the House of Representatives for Takai/Sumaila federal constituency, Shamsudeen Danbazau, called on party stakeholders to do more to stem the wave of defection that has hit the party in recent times.
“The APC family needs to calm frayed nerves within its fold by effectively utilizing its peace and reconciliation mechanism to ensure that aggrieve voices are quickly spotted and redressed.
I see so much hope on the horizon for our party if we can amicably resolve our differences, and work hand-in-hand to deliver for APC in 2019. I share in the president’s resolve that we can bequeath a corruption-free country to posterity if we are diligent in our convictions and conscientious in the implementation of policies and programmes that are intended to fight corruption and alleviated the plight of the people.”
