Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima, has prayed for the total restoration of peace in Borno State, northeast and Nigeria as Muslims celebrate this year’s Eid- el-Kabir.

The governor who was among the faithful that observed their Eid prayer at Ramat square in Maiduguri on Tuesday, also prayed for harmony, transquility and unparalleled prosperity to the land.

“We pray to Almighty Allah to bless our land  and envelope it with peace, harmony and transquility, and may Allah bless us with unparallel prosperity. We wish everyone well,” Shettima prayed.

Similarly, the Senator representing Borno Central senatorial district, Senator Baba Kaka Garbai also in his message after observing the Eid prayer called on residents of Borno and northeast to intensify prayers for peace and stability in Borno and northeast at large.

Garbai called on the security agencies  to scale up their operations in the northeast region to end the Boko Haram insurgency still experienced in some areas of Borno and the northeast region even as he commended the efforts made so far by the security agencies to bring the crisis to an end.
