Niger Govt Spends N1bn To Rehabilitate Minna-Suleja Road



The Niger State government has expended about N1 billion for the rehabilitation of the dilapidated Suleja-Minna Trunk A road as palliatives to ameliorate the sufferring of Motorists along the road. The commissioner of works, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe made this known to the State government Media Strategy and Communication Committee in his office yesterday in Minna that the state government considering the sufferring of the people along the road has constantly intervened with the rehabilitation of some parts of the road. He said that the government of governor Abubakar Sani Bello has embarked on several projects ranging from construction, renovation and remodeling of roads many of which are at various levels of completion. Balarabe explained that the state government intervened in many federal roads in the state so as to ameliorate the plight of motorists who ply the roads in which Minna-Suleja road was key to the economy of the state. He reiterated the commitment of the state government in the revitalisation of all decayed public infrastructure despite paucity of funds but noted that the administration would not embark on white elephant projects On power, the commissioner emphasised that Agwara and Bangi that have not being connected to national grid and are local government headquarters, have been connected to national grid He further disclosed that the present government has procured over 300 assorted transformers and distributed to various communities in the state to boast their economic base and enhanced leaving.
