The National Executive Committee of Re-Build Nigeria Party (RBNP) has, in a unanimous resolution, suspended the party’s Protem National Chairman, Chief Japhet Anyanwu and approved the appointment of Chief Canice Okorie as the Acting National Chairman.

In a communique on Thursday, in Abuja, signed by Chief (Dr) Canice Anyanwu, Acting National Chairman and Prince Musa Abuti, National Secretary, the party stated that Anyanwu was suspended for “gross misconduct, financial misappropriation, extortion, offering of party positions for monetary gratifications and gains.”

According to RBNP, the NEC constituted a five-man Disciplinary Committee to investigate series of petitions and allegations leveled against the suspended protem chairman and approved the appointment of Chief (Dr) Canice Okorie as the acting national chairman of the party.

The NEC also ratified the decisions of the National Working Committee with regards to the forthcoming congresses and National Convention slated for September 2018.

The party added that its executive committee mandated the onward transmission of the above resolution to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other related institutions for proper documentation.
