The Kaduna State police command has recorded breakthrough within two weeks by arresting armed robbers and kidnappers as well as recovering of exhibits.
This was disclosed in a maiden press briefing by the Commands commissioner of police, Ahmad Abdurrahman.
Abdurrahman said, “I feel obliged to intimate you of the command’s successes in combating crime and criminality in Kaduna state within the past two weeks following the collaboration with our core principles of community partnership in crime prevention and detection in the state.”
Adding “The Kaduna State Command is going to work strictly based on international core values of policing with integrity; ensuring that the rule of law prevails in our actions and activities; respecting the diversity, displaying courage, showing compassion and demonstrating professionalism; operating within the principles of democratic policing; shunning corruption with the sole aim of making Kaduna State safer and secured.
“Under my watch as Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command, we intend to intensify efforts in fighting crime while at the same time respecting the fundamental rights of all individuals and upholding the principle of zero tolerance to corruption, impunity and indiscipline for successful democratic governance in line with the ideals of Kaduna State Government and the Federal Government of Nigeria.” He said.
According to him, the Kaduna State Command is committed to the philosophies of the present Police Administration of IGP Ibrahim K. Idris and has adapted Intelligence-led policing; aggressive and well-structured visibility patrol systems which involve a periodic, unscheduled but adequately organised raiding that is proactive, preventive and offensive against all forms of crimes.
The suspects paraded include 2 suspected kidnappers,14 suspected Armed Robbers, 3 suspected counterfeiters and 1 suspected motorcycle thief as well as exhibits recovered which include 1 Locally fabricated Gun, 2 Long Dane Guns, 6 Live cartridges, 1366 Live 7.62mm ammunition, Large bundles of counterfeit US Dollars, 3 Motorcycles, 1 Cutlass, 8 Wrist watches and 1 Knife and Assorted charms.
Abdurrahman assured members of the public of their total commitment towards checkmating criminal syndicates and all forms of crimes and criminalities in Kaduna State.
