Nigeria’s male handball team has landed in Morocco for 2018 CAHB Africa male’s Junior and Youth Championships.

The CAHB Junior Championship holds from 7th to 14th September, 2018 while the Youth Championship will follow immediately from 15th to 22nd September.

Nigeria is drawn in group A of the competition alongside Tunisia, Algeria and Angola which is seen as the group of death in the Youth category, while Nigeria faces Egypt, Algeria, Guinea and Libya in the group B of the Junior category.

Both the team officials and players are in high spirits for the championship and hope to replicate their performance in Kigali, Rwanda.

The first CAHB African Men’s Junior Championship took place back in 1980, in Lagos, Nigeria, and the 2018 edition will be the 19th edition of the event in which Egypt are the record winners, with 11 championship wins.

The current title holders are Tunisia, who beat Egypt 30:29 in Bamako, Mali in 2016.

The top three teams in each championship will qualify to the IHF Men’s Youth and Junior World Championships next year.
