Nigeria’s immediate past High Commissioner to The Gambia, Mrs. Esther Audu, yesterday emerged senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Ambassador Audu emerged through a unanimous voice vote at the party’s FCT senatorial primary in Abuja.
Others who emerged at the exercise monitored by INEC, include Ene loveth Abel as House of Representatives candidate for Abuja North and Jona tanyizhin for Abuja south House of Representatives.
In a remark, the senatorial Candidate Ambassador Esther Audu said she was in the race to offer hope to the people of Abuja.
She said “God will use ADC to solve the problem of Abuja” which she described as a constitutional.
The chairman of the congress commmitee , Chief Anayo Arinze, said the party decided to hold the Abuja primaries first because the FCT is strategic for them.
He further expressed optimism that ADC would win the 2019 general election, stressing that Nigerians were tired of the old order and that ADC was the way to go to bring true change.
ADC chairman in the FCT, Mr Isiaka Shekarau, urged the party members to work as a team to win the 2019 polls.
