The Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, has commiserated with the government and people of Nasarawa State over the gas explosion, Monday, that claimed about 18 lives and left over 50 persons injured in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
The forum sympathised with the victims and their families and hopes that the devastation it left in its wake, would never happen again. The NGF also wished the injured in various hospitals around the state speedy recovery.
The director general of the NGF, Asishana B. Okauru while reviewing the incident, commended the state government for its prompt reaction in remedying the situation by coming to the aid of the victims and showing that the Nasarawa State government has a human face.
The deputy governor, Silas Ali Agara had, on hearing of the explosion visited the scene of the tragedy and all the hospitals where he expressed the government’s sympathies and promised government’s assistance without delay.
