Gombe 2019: My Administration Will Be Accessible – Dan Barde



A gubernatorial candidate under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Gombe state, Mohammed  Jibrin Dan Barde,  on Wednesday said if elected, he would run an accessible and transparent government by regularly keeping the people abreast of the workings of his administration.

“Gombe state needs a leader that is willing to fight for the type of open, honest, and accessible government they deserve. I will ensure public funds are being spent wisely, not mismanaged or for personal gain. Gombe needs a leader not only with managerial experience but also tested in value and integrity I have championed leadership in these areas, and I can stand tall to say that my hands are very clean.” He said.

“We will make sure we form a government of the people and for the people to transform Gombe State to greater heights,” he added.

The gubernatorial hopeful who stated this at his campaign headquarters in Gombe while addressing newsmen described the rate of poverty and unemployment in the state as “alarming” he then promised to revive the moribund industries in the state in order for the youth to be engaged, to reduce the rate of poverty and unemployment.

“The rate of poverty in the state is alarming, due to reckless mismanagement of public funds, this and many other issues need to be address immediately. That is why I am offering myself to serve and safe the state from total collapse.” He said.

While revealing  that residents of the state capital spends over N5 billion annually to buy water because the state government failed to maintain the dam constructed in the state by past administrations, he said  the mismanagement of government has resulted to total collapse of basic infrastructures in the state.

Barde said in the cause of his campaign tour to the 114 electoral wards across the state, he discovered the total absence of basic amenities for prosperity such as water, education, health and accessible roads across the state. Assuring  that when elected, he will dedicate himself to the development of the state, adding that at the moment, every development indices you can think of have collapsed.

He promised to revive the Dadin Kowa Dam to ensure citizens of the state get steady drinkable  water and also to boost irrigation farming for economic growth.
