The Senator representing Cross River North senatorial district, Dr Rose Oko, Wednesday picked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ticket for a second term after scoring 496 votes from the total votes cast.
Oko, who contested with Hon. Godwin Nyiam and Hon. Thomas Udam, commended the process of the election said her victory was dedicated to the people of the five local government areas that make the senatorial district and promised better and improved representation and more developmental projects. She promised to work with other contestants to move the district forward.
She however, revealed that Hon. Udam called her in the early hours of Wednesday and stepped down for her, saying that was why he didn’t show up at the venue of the primary election.
She also urged them to massively vote for her during the 2019 general elections, and also to conduct themselves peacefully and ensure their votes count.
