APC Leadership Crisis: NWC, NEC Supports Oshiomhole, Says Nabena

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Yekini Nabena, has said contrary to insinuations in some quarters, the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, enjoys the support of the party’s leadership.

Nabena also said statements credited to him alleging that he made uncomplimentary remarks about the chairman’s handling of party affairs were false.

He was reacting to a national daily that had quoted him as saying Oshiomhole was arrogating to himself the monopoly of knowledge in running the party’s affairs.

In a statement he signed in Abuja, on Wednesday, Nabena said “My attention has been drawn to a comment credited to me in one of the national newspapers on Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s national leadership of our great party, the APC and the party’s current state-of-affairs.

“The statement ascribed to me in the news publication is completely false.

“As a former acting National Publicity Secretary of the Party, I know for a fact and on good authority that the party’s National Working Committee and the National Executive Committee are strongly in support the National Chairman and the progressive reforms he has championed in the party to ensure the inclusion and direct participation of all party members in the affairs of the party.“

Indeed, there are grievances in the aftermath of the recently-conducted primaries, however, amicable solutions are already being sought to settle them.”
