Hybrid Partners NOUN To Boost Students Safety

The Hybrid Group limited, a professional organization involved in provision of safety has partnered with the Directorate of Research Administration and Advancement of National Open University (NOUN) to ensure Health and Safety Environment (HSE) as a rewarding field and multi-discipline career for students.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja during a one day Career Empowerment Seminar on occupational health, safety and environment, the Vice Chancellor of NOUN, Professor Abdalla Uba said that safety professionals have responsibilities in every facet of human existence, whether at home, on the road or in any workplace.

Represented by the director, Learner Support Services, Professor Gregory Okagbare, the VC said that the initiative was in line with the NOUN’s strategic goal of creating partnerships and linkages with industry stakeholders to ensure that our Students are adequately exposed and equipped for the 21st century labour market.

According to him, “I urge our students to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by this career seminar that could position you for self-employment in (HSE) after graduation and further career prospects,” he noted.

Also speaking the seminar overview Hybrid Group, Remi Omolade said that the seminar is therefore, an initiative aimed at addressing the skills gap that has been identified in the health, Safety and Environment sector.

He noted that, the seminar was aimed at creating awareness about the opportunities that exist in the health, safety and environment industry, fostering academia industry collaborations to bridge the skills gap in the health, safety and environment sector, and also to encourage professional certification among students for graduate employability and career opportunities.

“We assist aspiring persons to know the right pathway to the safety professionals, provide clarity and direction to becoming a safety professional, through the most affordable medium and to create gainful employment opportunities for Nigerians in the field of safety and related fields, ” he added.
