Be Professional, Non Partisan, CAS Charges Personnel

The chief of the Air staff Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has enjoined personnel to be professional in their conduct and shun partisanship in the discharge of their constitutional duties.

Air Marshal Abubakar gave the charge while commissioning two additional blocks of 10 single bedroom accommodation for personnel in 251 Base service group (251 BSG)

The CAS, who was represented by the Chief of Administration, Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Kingsley Lar, noted that the NAF, which has been in the forefront of the fight against insurgency, cannot afford to be distracted at this point in time.

In a statement by the director public relations and information Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola the CAS urged personnel to remain focus and continue to conduct themselves professionally in the discharge of their duties towards ensuring the security of the country.

Speaking further, restated that in a bid to consolidate the successes recorded across the country in the fights against insurgency, armed banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling, the NAF recently activated Quick Response Wings at Agatu in Benue State, Doma in Nassarawa State and Nguroje in Taraba State to improve its response capability and bring security closer to Nigerians.

Air Marshal Abubakar added that the Service, being mindful of the welfare needs of its personnel, embarked on the construction of accommodation and ancillary facilities in NAF Bases across the country.

This, he said, included the establishment of new primary and secondary schools and hospitals as well as the renovation and expansion of existing ones.

He noted that the NAF would continue to give utmost priority to matters bordering on the welfare needs of personnel and their families.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 251 BSG, Group Captain Mohammed Aliyu, extolled the laudable achievements of the NAF which, he said, would not have been possible without the wisdom, dedication and support of the CAS.

Aliyu noted that the commissioning of the new blocks would further contribute to accommodation sufficiency in the Unit.

Like in many NAF Bases across the country, the NAF has commissioned several infrastructural facilities and accommodation in NAF Base Bauchi, the most recent being 2 furnished blocks of 6 one-bedroom flats for single officers on 18 October 2018.
