Indigenes of Imo State living abroad under the aegis of Imo Diasporas Support For Senator Hope Uzodinma (IDSFSHU), has congratulated Senator Hope Uzodinma over his victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election, ahead of the 2019 general elections.
IDSFSHU, a group of Imo State indigenes living abroad and working for the election of Senator Hope Uzodinma as governor of Imo State come 2019, congratulated Uzodinma in a statement signed by its coordinator, Chief Nnanna Okere and made available to journalists in Abuja, yesterday.
The group applauded the members of All Progressives Congress especially the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for standing for justice, fairness and equity as enshrined in the APC guidelines.
The group also urged the Ugwumba Movement to embrace peace and work for APC’s victory and ensure that the party remains the landlord of Douglas House Owerri, come 2019. While also admonishing the Imo APC Restoration Coalition not to see their victory over the Ugwumba Movement as a zero sum game but a victory for democracy, it stressed that what should be paramount to APC is to concentrate and ensure overall victory at the general elections.
The group advised against all forms of media attacks amongst APC members whether from the Ugwumba Movement or Imo APC Restoration Coalition.
It further admonished Imolites to give Senator Uzodinma a chance to reposition Imo State for greater economic growth and development starting from 2019.
The group assured the people that Uzodinma’s administration would work towards alleviating their sufferings when elected into power.
“Senator Uzodinma as governor will empower the youth to achieve their potentials,” it added. It noted that as a passionate and resourceful young man, Uzodinma became a millionaire in his mid-30s adding that his government would improve the business environment in Imo State.
The group, however, enjoined Nigerians to continue to pray for the success of the general elections in 2019 so as to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
LEADERSHIP recalls that there was initial confusion over the authentic candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, for next year’s governorship election until, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), pasted the name of Senator Hope Uzodinma as the rightful candidate of the party.
