Anchor Borrower: Necas Disteibutes 120 Motorcycles,13 Utility For Loan Recovery



The North East Commodity Association (NECAS), has distributed  120 motorcycles and 13 utility vehicles, to Extension Officers who would serve loan recovery officers, in Adamawa state

Alhaji Sadiq Daware the National Chairman NECA, said the mobilization of farmers in the sub-region, for repayment of loan by the Anchor Borrowers Programme (ABP) of the CBN is timely as farmer has commenced harvesting of crops.

Daware who lamented the region’s lagging behind, in utilizing the opportunities provided by ABP programme, noted only  55,000 farmers had so far been mobilized to benefit from the N9.4 billion provided by CBN for the programme.

He said the motorcycle donated, is aimed at ensuring  loan recovery, as was part of the components for the successful implementation of the programme.

Mr Steven Maduwa,  NECAS, a board member, urged the extension workers,  to ensure timely recovery of the loans, saying anyone who , met up to  80 per cent of coverage stand chance of given the motor-cycle free.

Maduwa also urged farmers to be committed in repaying their loans for more bigger opportunities to boost their farming businesses.

Mr Sa’ad Hamid CBN representative said, the anchor borrowers programme was part of efforts to support diversification of the economy of the present administration.

“This logistic support for extension officers to boost agriculture is a welcome one as extension workers are indispensable for the success of this programme,”.
