Youth groups in the oil rich Niger Delta have declared their unalloyed support for the PDP led Government under Deacon Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State.
The groups gave the indication during an emergency stakeholders meeting.
The meeting which witness over a 100 youth groups agreed to work together under the umbrella of United Niger Delta Youths For Udom Emmanuel.
A communiqué issued by leader of the group Amb AniekanAbasi Paulinus for Niger Delta Ex agitators and made available to our correspondent yesterday in Uyo said they were greatly impressed by the enormous achievements of Governor Udom Emmanuel in less than four years in office.
“”we leaders of the groups present here ranging from Non Violence advocacy groups, Ex freedom fighters, Pacifist groups, Faith base organizations, Non Governmental Organizations, Socio Cultural groups, Activists, Community and Grassroot organizations with formidable structures across the states of the Niger Delta Region, and the 31 Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State have resolved to come together under the umbrella of United Niger Delta Youths for Udom Emmanuel.
“”We have decided to bring together our knowledge and political dexterity to the table with a view to campaign and deliver the performing Governor of Akwa Ibom and the PDP come 2019”.
According to the group, Deacon Emmanuel Udom who is a youth friendly Governor had worked hand in glove with our very own Onofiok Akpan Luke to reposition Akwa Ibom State as they steadily deliver on their campaign promises with focus and precision.
“”Udom’s priority of turning Akwa Ibom to an industrial hub is unparalleled even as he resuscitate ailing and moribund establishments as well as erecting new industries in the health, utility, agric sectors etc which has created thousands of job opportunities for our teeming youths, wealth creation, economic transformation, revenue generation an so on and so forth.
They said that the Governor’s reforms and policies are largely responsible for the sustained peaceful environment that has triggered the influx of investors into the state, coupled with the infrastructural developments ongoing across the length and breadth of the state.
“”when the righteous rule , the people rejoice, Gov Udom’s choice is a Divine Mandate indeed, as he right the wrongs of the past.
We are not only impressed with him and his team, but comfortable with his leadership style but also his wizardry of Prudent management of resources, investing the State resources in the sectors they’re most needed with optimum result, constantly consulting with stakeholders in every field and projects, as he believes in the people who gave him the mandate to lead them.
Udom is humble, transparent and operates on open door policy. It is for the purpose the National leaders of the various groups have directed the state chapter Coordinators to endorse these novel Initiative.
We condemn in strong term every illegal and underhand approach to disrupt status quo with the aim to gain power through the back door.
No amount of intimidation can coerce us against our choice. We have a lot to achieve with Udom and the PDP government from every level.
We are advocates of regional integration, we believe this will be achieved with a PDP government at the region.
In the days ahead we will unfurl our strategic road map working with the campaign organisation and other notable outfits to win landslide in 2019 elections, no room for APC in Akwa Ibom and other part of the region”the group stated.
