Demi Lovato Tops Google’s List Of Trending Search 2018

Demi Lovato was a popular search query in 2018, edging out Meghan Markle, Brett Kavanaugh, Logan Paul and other big names in Google’s annual list of top trending searches in the United States.

The trending data examines Google searches that experienced a higher spike in traffic when compared to the same period last year.

Lovato made headlines in this year when she relapsed with a drug overdose and entered rehab to get sober again.

According to the tech giant’s, ‘Year in Search’ data released on December 12, musicians fared pretty good overall on the list, with Eminem ranked sixth, while Ariana Grande, Rick Ross and Cardi B came in eighth, ninth and 10th respectively.

Meanwhile, for song searches, Queen’s rock classic, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ topped the list – undoubtedly boosted by the new Freddie Mercury biopic of the same name – while Childish Gambino’s chart-topping political bop, ‘This is America,’ and Pinkfong’s children’s tune, ‘Baby Shark,’ followed respectively.

For weddings, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s nuptials ranked second overall, following just the royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Susses. And in sadder news, Mac Miller topped the list of death-related searches, while Aretha Franklin came in fifth, XXXTentacion in sixth and Avicii in eighth.
