Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command in Alakuko Police Station on Monday said they have nabbed six traffic suspected armed robbers terrorizing Ajagunle Alakuko area of the state.
The suspects were identified as Opeyemi Suraju, 22; Abdullahi Hammed, 18; Aboidun Asegoke, 20; Samuel Innocent 25; Basit Makinde, 20 and Moturayo Akeem, 23.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, said on the 2nd of January, 2019, information was received from a reliable source that some hoodlums, armed with guns and other dangerous were dispossessing motorist of their valuables along Ajagunle area of the Alakuko in Lagos.
He said on receipt of the information, operatives from Alakuko Police Station mobilised to the scene.
“However, on sighting the policemen, the armed robbers ran in different directions to avoid being arrested but were chase leading to the six suspects. Exhibit recovered from the suspects are Cutlass and Daggers
Imohimi said, the suspects have confessed committing the crime and will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
In a similar development, one Faruba Idris, 38 years old was caught in Ejigbo area of Lagos State robbing motorists.
The suspect was immediately searched and a cut to size locally made gun with 2 cartridges was recovered from him.
However, the suspect will be charged to court at conclusion of the investigation.
