Princewill To Wike: Stop Linking Amaechi To Onnoghen’s Travails

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Prince Tonye Princewill, has advised Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, to stop linking the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to the travails of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

He dismissed Wike’s claims, regarding an alleged conversation between Amaechi and an APC chieftain in Abuja and expressed shock that the governor could descend to a level where he could afford to make such bogus claims.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday, Princewill said he was disappointed with the lies that the governor fabricated. He urged Rivers people to ignore comments that are completely baseless and absurd.

The APC chieftain noted that there was no time such a conversation took place between the minister and his humble self, stressing that there was no reason for such a high ranking official to spin such lies.

He wondered how Amaechi could be held blamable for the prosecution of the Chief Justice of Nigeria who has admitted that he forgot to comply with constitutional provisions regarding assets declaration.

Princewill stated that in an attempt to appear controversial and fearless, the governor was beginning to drag the integrity and image of Rivers people to the abyss.

He urged Rivers people to prevail on the governor to exercise restraint and decorum in the way he expresses himself in the public domain.
