An Islamic group, “Sisters of Jannah” (SOJ), Kaduna zone, on Friday donated food items, clothing, toiletries and essential drugs worth N5000,000 to a Kaduna-based Al-Ihsan Balsuma Charity Organisation.
Receiving the items the Home Director, Firdausi Yusuf said, the gesture by SOJ showed that, there is hope for vulnerable children in Nigerian society.
She said the home was established 36 years ago and has touched many lives.
According to her, there are about five categories of children here; the abandoned, vulnerable, rejected, orphan and half orphan.
“We rely on Almighty Allah, organisations and well-meaning individuals for donations as God lays it in their hearts to support us.
“People come around to identify a child and be responsible for his or her upkeep including education, medical and feeding though such children are still with us here.
“On behalf of the orphanage and the children, I thank SOJ for donating these items to us.
Earlier, the Coordinator, SOJ, Kaduna zone, Hajiya Rukayat Bello said her association was only doing what Almighty Allah commanded, through which they could seek Allah’s forgiveness and shortcomings at such a time as this.
“We know this is election time and they need these items.
“One unique thing about this is that we did not just bring items, we came first to identify the needs of the home.
“It was based on that earlier visitation that we know what they need and we have been able to task ourselves as sisters to help,’’she said.
