NCC Donates ICT Equipment To Nigerian Army Institute



In a bid to improve access to information and communication technology (ICT), computing skills, as well as develop the appreciation of ICT for improved efficient teaching and learning in various subjects, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has donated ICT equipment to the Nigerian Army Institute of Technology and Environmental Studies, Makurdi.

At the presentation of the items in Abuja, the executive vice chairman of the commission, Prof. Umar Danbatta, who was represented by the head, information technology in the Commission, Engr. Abraham Oshadame  said the gesture would go a long way to complement the efforts of the Nigerian Army towards achieving its mandate and further enhance the security of the country through the deployment of ICT and expressed hope that the donation would help make a difference by improving the institution’s access to ICT services which would vastly improve its efficiency in teaching and course delivery.

“It is our hope that, this donation will make a difference on the staff and students of your institute not only by improving their access to Information and Communication Technology, tools but to enhance their skills in computing, as well as understanding and developing appreciation of ICT for improved efficiency in teaching and learning in various subjects”, he sad.

He called on the institution to properly allocate, manage, protect and maintain the equipment for the benefit of staff and students.

The director in charge of ICT in the institution, Ms Nwafor Chidinma who received the equipment on behalf of the rector thanked the commission for fulfilling its promise of supporting the institution.

She said the equipment would help facilitate the institution’s research work as well as help in security management.

The items donated include 10 laptops, one colour laser jet printer, 2 black and white laser jet printers and 1 projector.
