NGO To Train 200 Youths On Entrepreneurship Skills

An Abuja-based nongovernmental organisation (NGO), Leadership by Design (LBD) International Initiative, said it has shortlisted about 200 youths in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to benefit from a free leadership, entrepreneurship skills and ICT training later this month.

Founder of the NGO, Daniel Ezimadu, noted that Nigeria is bedeviled with bad leadership and insisted that those in government lack basic understanding of leadership skills.

Ezimadu stated that training young people to acquire leadership skills is a call to service, which according to him would help restructure the country’s political class in the long run.

He pointed out that majority of young people do not even know that they have leadership qualities until they have been mentored.

According to him, “Mentorship into leadership and entrepreneurship skills are closely related because your leadership skill determines how far your business can get. Developing leadership capacity improves or boosts your business. On the other hand, lack of good leadership skills can cause a business to collapse and this affects every other area of life.”

Speaking on challenges of the youth projects in the country, the founder decried lack of government assistance, just as he called on well meaning Nigerians to support worthy cause that can impact on the overall well-being of the country.
