KEDCO Restates Commitment To Network Expansion



Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) says it is energising existing networks to adequately boost power distribution within the company’s franchise areas.

KEDCO Managing Director Dr Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, stated this on the sidelines of Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) Seminar in Abuja on Tuesday.

The seminar which comprised DisCo board members, top executives and other stakeholders, GenCos, end customers and financial institutions brainstormed on how to best approach the market, relative to DisCos, is a Capacity-building and Technical Assistance Programme for Nigerian Power Distribution Sector developed.

The Seminar was organised by the French Development Agency, supported by the European Union and implemented by Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors (ANED).

Gwamna said that KEDCO had already put in place all modalities to improve customer service, ATC and C loss, power distribution and staff welfare.

According to him, the seminar would assist the management in terms of adding to the wealth of network experience that are already in use by KEDCO.

He stressed that the many improvement and others still on the way are targeted toward improving the company’s capacity to satisfy its numerous customers in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States.

The KEDCO boss while lauding its customers for their cooperation so far, added that a lot needed to be done terms of paying their bills so that other basic reforms which the company hopes to implement are not thwarted by lack of fund
