Gbagyi Group Donates N2.9m Relief Materials To Displaced Persons



A Gbagyi socio-cultural group, Gbegnu Boknu Yakwo, in Niger State has donated materials worth N2.9 million to  those displaced as a result  of bandits attack in  three local government areas of the state.

The chairman of the group, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Ayejebo, represented by Mr Daniel Tarachi Saud said that the essence of the relief materials was to cushion the effect of the constant bandit attacks on the people.

He expressed appreciation for the contributions of the members of the association in ensuring that the materials were purchased for distribution to displaced  members of the communities from Shiroro, Munya and parts of Paikoro local government areas.

The chairman called on members of the association to be more dedicated and committed to the cause of the Gbagyi people.

The items donated for distribution were 106 bags of rice, 20 bags of maize, 11 bags of beans, tubers of yam, 50 pieces of wrappers , 22 cartons of indomie and  some detergents.

The benefiting communities were categorised into A, B and C cutting across  20 wards and several other communities displaced by the bandits.
